Community Programs

Support, education, and connection.

Our Community Programs are the foundation of Kindred Hearts. They are open to all adoptive, kinship, and guardianship families—regardless of income or case status—and offer trusted spaces to grow, connect, and breathe.

Support Groups

Regular peer groups for caregivers to gather, reflect, and exchange insights with others walking a similar path. Groups are led by trauma-informed facilitators who understand the post-adoption journey.

Youth, Tween & Teen Events

Supervised, trauma-informed fun for kids while caregivers recharge. Activities range from creative arts and movement to field trips and skill-building workshops.

Family Fun Events

Community-wide events designed to bring families together through shared experiences. These events promote joy, belonging, and connection in a relaxed, judgment-free setting.

Parent Trainings

Access to evidence-based education on topics such as trauma, attachment, behavior, and navigating school systems. Trainings are offered in partnership with clinicians and local experts.

Community Education & Professional Development

Kindred Hearts is proud to train local schools, agencies, and healthcare professionals in trauma-informed care and adoption competency, ensuring that our community becomes more supportive for families long-term.

Camp Kindred

Our summer camp for adopted children ages 8–12. Camp Kindred blends outdoor adventure, expressive activities, and trauma-informed care in a one-of-a-kind experience designed for healing and peer connection.

All programs in Tier 1 are free or low-cost, thanks to generous grants and partnerships. We believe every family deserves support—without financial barriers.
